where do the surf lessons take place?

Lajares is one of the main access points to the North shore of the island

Our meeting point is in Lajares, but the lesson location depends on the conditions. We regularly teach at several beginner-friendly beaches across the north of Fuerteventura, choosing the one that offers the best conditions for your level each day.

Rather than surfing at the same beach every day, we choose the location where you’ll have the best chance to learn, progress and enjoy the experience.

Wherever the lesson takes place, transport from Lajares is included, so all you have to do is enjoy your day in the water.

how do I know which surf level I should book?

If you’re not sure, take a look at the Levels section on our Surf Lessons in Fuerteventura page. It will help you identify the lesson that best matches your experience. If you’re still unsure, just get in touch—we’ll be happy to help.

do you offer pick-up from Lajares?

Yes. If you’re staying in Lajares, transport to and from the beach is included. We’ll send you your meeting point and pick-up time the day before your lesson.

do you offer surf lessons in Lajares?

Yes. Many of our students stay in Lajares, and we organise daily surf lessons from there. Depending on the conditions, we’ll take you to the best beach for your level, with transport included.

Absolutely. Transport to the beach is included, so you’ll always be taken to the location with the best conditions for your level.

Lajares has become one of the most popular places for surfers visiting Fuerteventura. Its relaxed atmosphere, great cafés, local restaurants and central location make it an ideal base for exploring the north of the island.

where do we meet for the surf lesson?

Your meeting point depends on where you’re staying. The day before your lesson, we’ll send you the exact meeting location and pick-up time.

will we surf in Lajares nearby?

Not always. We choose the beach with the best waves and safest conditions for your level. Sometimes that’s in the nearby, while other days it may be another spot in the north of Fuerteventura.

how long does a surf lesson last?

The full experience lasts around 3–4 hours, including transport, equipment, briefing and around 75-90 minutes in the water.

how far are the surf beaches from Lajares?

Most of the beaches we use are just a short drive away. We’ll choose the best option each day based on the conditions and your surfing level.

can I drive to the beach instead of using the transfer?

Yes. Many of our students choose to drive to the beach in their own car. Simply let us know in advance, and we’ll send you the exact surf spot location and meeting time the day before your lesson.

is Lajares a good place to learn how to surf?

Yes. Lajares is one of the most popular places to stay for surfers visiting Fuerteventura. Its location gives easy access to several beaches in the north of the island, allowing us to choose the best conditions for your lesson every day.

do I need to book my surf lesson in advance?

We recommend booking in advance, especially during holidays and peak season, as places in our small groups are limited. Last-minute bookings may still be available depending on availability.

what happens if the sea conditions change?

We check the forecast every day and choose the beach with the best conditions. If the conditions aren’t safe, we’ll contact you and arrange the best alternative.

what language are the surf lessons taught in?

Our lessons are available in English and Spanish. Depending on the group, we may also be able to teach in other languages.

Mi pareja y yo nunca habíamos hecho surf y nos encantó que las clases no se centraran solo en “hacer la actividad”, sino también en entender realmente lo que estábamos haciendo y el porqué de cada cosa.

Fernando explica todo de forma muy sencilla, está siempre pendiente de cada persona, de posibles molestias o dolores y adapta mucho sus indicaciones a cada uno. Además, trabaja con grupos reducidos, lo que hace que tengas mucha más atención y más oportunidades de coger olas.

El primer día ya conseguimos coger olas solos y nos sentimos tan cómodos que decidimos no probar con ninguna otra escuela y hacer directamente dos clases más con él. En solo una semana de vacaciones conseguimos disfrutar muchísimo del surf, algo que al principio pensábamos que sería difícil por el poco tiempo que teníamos.

Además de ser un gran instructor, Fernando es súper simpático, crea muy buen ambiente y puede dar las explicaciones tanto en español como en inglés.

Lo recomendaríamos totalmente, tanto si empiezas desde cero como si ya tienes algo de experiencia. ¡Volveríamos sin duda!

Fernando è una persona molto disponibile, simpatica, paziente e soprattutto trasmette la passione per questo sport bellissimo. We had such a great time here and felt welcome from the very first minute. The Surf Coach is super friendly, patient and genuinely nice. Especially as beginners, we always felt comfortable and were encouraged without ever feeling pressured.

The atmosphere was just amazing – we learned a lot, had so much fun and laughed a ton along the way. This is exactly what a surf experience in Fuerteventura should be like!

It was my first time after a year so I was kind of nervous but before the first lesson he checked our knowledge, refreshed the basics and give us some tips before. In the water he had an eye on the whole group and we got a few tips after every wave. In the second day the conditions where are little rougher but I already felt a lot safer on the board so his lessons are really helpful! 🏄‍♂️
When you are lucky he brings his puppy to the surf lessons!
All in all was it a great experience and would highly recommend Fernando and Europe surf school! 🫶
